PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Description

The 19" Rack Plus series hydrogen generators use the latest proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology to produce high purity hydrogen. The exclusive “No Maintenance” gas column cold regeneration system eliminates all the down time for maintenance that is typical of other systems on the market, assuring the best hydrogen purity at all times.

 

The optional zero air generator provides 1.8 l/min or 5 l/min of zero air with HC content around 0.5ppm.

The 19” Rack Plus series generators are ideal for:
* Flame ionization detector (FID)
* Carrier gas for GC and GC-MS (NM version)
* Fast GC (NM version)
* Collisions on ICP-MS
* Small fuel-cell cylinder refills

PG Plus series features:

NM Plus series benefits 
Cascading
The ability to "cascade", or install several hydrogen generators in parallel, provides:
* Higher flow rates - up to 10 lpm
* Automatic flow compensation in the event of unplanned downtime
* Continuous operation for critical applications

Improved chromatographic results
Hydrogen as a carrier gas is faster and more sensitive than the more expensive helium. Run time savings of 25% to 35% without a decline in resolution.

Improved safety
The very limited internal volume (less than 50 ml) allows safe use of the gas generators where the use of cylinders is risky or prohibited. The application of tested safety technologies stops the unit in the event of leaks or malfunctions.

Savings
Hydrogen gas generators avoid the need for expensive installation of gas pipelines from the cylinder storerooms to the labs, as well as the need to repeatedly change the bottles.

Longer analytcal column life 
The use of hydrogen as a carrier gas allows lower temperature elution, thus extending the life of the chromatograph column.

Operating principle 
Hydrogen is produced by forcing distilled or deionized water through a sophisticated Swiss-made fuel cell. Electrolytic dissociation separates the water into its two main components: hydrogen ready for analytical use, and oxygen that is released into the air. No acid no alkaline solutions are used in the hydrogen generation cycle. The patented automatic drying system ensures the maximum grade of hydrogen purity.
